By registering for a program, accessing our website, or engaging with any of our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Please read them carefully before participating.
1. About Volunteers Global
Volunteers Global (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates as a volunteer placement and coordination organization based in Sri Lanka.
We connect volunteers with vetted host partners such as schools, NGOs, animal care centers, community organizations, tourism facilities, and conservation sites.
We act as a facilitator — managing placement, accommodation, logistics, and overall volunteer support.
2. Eligibility
To participate in any Volunteers Global program, you must:
- Be 18 years or older (participants under 18 may join with parental consent and supervision).
- Hold a valid passport and visa (if required) for entry into Sri Lanka.
- Be in good physical and mental health suitable for volunteer work.
- Provide accurate and complete information during application.
3. Application and Registration
- All applications must be submitted through our website or official registration forms.
- Once accepted, you will receive a Program Confirmation Letter outlining your placement, duration, and fees.
- A non-refundable deposit (usually 25% of the total fee) is required to confirm participation.
- The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days before the start date unless otherwise agreed.
4. Program Fees and Inclusions
Your program fee typically includes:
- Accommodation and daily meals
- Airport pickup (if specified)
- Local transport to project sites
- Weekend cultural excursions (if included in your package)
- Orientation and 24/7 in-country support
- Program coordination, certification, and administration costs
Exclusions:
- Airfare and personal travel insurance
- Visa fees and vaccinations
- Personal expenses and optional tours
- Medical or emergency evacuation costs
5. Cancellations and Refunds
By Volunteer:
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@volunteersglobal.com.
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- If cancellation occurs:
- More than 30 days before the start date: 50% refund of remaining fee.
- Less than 30 days before start date: No refund available.
- Date changes may be permitted subject to availability and partner approval.
By Volunteers Global:
- We reserve the right to cancel or modify a program due to unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, political instability, pandemic-related restrictions).
- In such cases, we will offer a rescheduled date or program credit.
6. Code of Conduct
All volunteers must:
- Respect local laws, customs, and cultural values.
- Act professionally and responsibly at all times.
- Follow the guidance of local coordinators and host organizations.
- Avoid any behavior that could harm the reputation of Volunteers Global or its partners.
- Refrain from discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate conduct.
Volunteers Global reserves the right to remove any participant from the program without refund if these rules are violated.
7. Health, Safety, and Insurance
- Volunteers are responsible for obtaining comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering accidents, illness, personal liability, and trip cancellations.
- You must inform us of any medical conditions or allergies before arrival.
- Volunteers Global and its partners are not liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising during participation unless caused by gross negligence on our part.
8. Accommodation and Meals
- Accommodation provided will meet basic safety and comfort standards (shared rooms or homestays).
- Meals are typically local cuisine. Special dietary requirements should be communicated in advance.
- Volunteers are expected to maintain cleanliness and respect house rules at their assigned accommodation.
9. Changes to Programs
We make every effort to maintain accuracy in program details; however, schedules, placements, or activities may change due to:
- Local conditions (e.g., school holidays, weather, community needs).
- Partner availability or logistical adjustments.
In such cases, equivalent placements or activities will be arranged.
10. Media and Content Use
By participating, you grant Volunteers Global the right to use photographs, videos, and testimonials for marketing, training, or promotional purposes.
If you prefer not to be featured, please inform us in writing before or during your program.
11. Data Protection and Privacy
All personal data collected is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We use your information solely to manage your volunteer experience and communication.

12. Liability and Disclaimer
- Volunteers Global acts only as an intermediary between volunteers and host organizations.
- We are not responsible for any actions or omissions of third-party partners.
- Participation is at the volunteer’s own risk, and Volunteers Global is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property.
By applying to join a program, you acknowledge these terms and agree to release Volunteers Global and its affiliates from any claims arising during your participation.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.
Any disputes shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
